Oviedo came in as number 7 on Florida’s 50 Safest Cities List! Florida is regarded as a safe state in general with its crime rate below the national average in both property and violent crime which is one of the many reasons that make it a great place to live. According to Safewise.com the average property crime rate nationwide is at 19.6 for every 1000 people, Florida came in below this average at 17.7 per 1000 people.
For anyone moving to or within Florida it is reasonable to wonder about how safe the place you will be moving to is. Oviedo was the only city on the list from central Florida that made the top 10. This makes Oviedo a great place to consider moving to for potential buyers or sellers.
Oviedo is known for growing a lot during the past few years and has a lot of growth still going on. Oviedo also is a part of Seminole County which is known for having some of the best schools in all of Florida. Not to mention Oviedo is just a short drive away (about 10 minutes) from the University of Central Florida. This gives it a strong connection with the university and community around.
Oviedo is surrounded by nature with lots of trails and parks scattered throughout. For those who like the beach Oviedo is about a 1 hour drive from Daytona, Cocoa, and Playalinda Beach making a day trip to the beach easily accessible.
